It’s my first post under the auspices of Deviltica, but I’m not going to bore you with an introduction. Instead, I’m to talk about 3D porn. Yeah.
Porn has been the driving force for many media formats, perhaps more so than you realise. From the first lithograph, to the advent of camera film, through VHS to DVD and most recently – and perhaps most prominently too – streaming digital formats via the internet, porn has had more influence on the transmission of images than anything else.
Will it have the same impact on the new 3D formats too?
Perhaps. Until now, the phrase ‘3D porn’ has been applied only to computer generated porn, featuring unrealistic and cheaply animated characters performing unrealistic sex acts. But that’s all about to change, because a French Video-On-Demand channel, Marc Dorcel Television, has just teamed up with 3DLized to produce the world’s first 3D hardcore porn TV station. Hurrah. The UK might even follow suit if the endeavour is a success; we already have 3D sports on our digital channels, so why not 3D porn here too?
But this throws up a conundrum. Do we really want to have to dodge 3D jizz from our armchairs? Maybe not. But the thought of Sasha Grey lowering her 3D pussy onto our faces really does appeal. I for one am crossing my fingers, and some other things, that it’s a success and that 3D porn will soon make its vivid way onto my screen soon.
I can’t wait to see it for myself.
